He is also actively engaged in his church congregation and appreciates opportunities to help others in need. Hobbies include building and renovation projects, learning about new technology and loves reading comic books!

John Burnham

Denturist, DD, Retired 2022
John Burnham retired after practicing as a denturist for over 40 years. We are incredibly thankful for his enthusiam for the denturist profession, his care and concern for his patients and the relationships he built with other professionals and community members. He was an incredible mentor to Max Palmer, current owner of Burnham Denture Clinic, and many other student denturists he helped train over his career. He will be missed. As the founder of Burnham Denture Clinic and a pioneer in the denturist community, we will remember his contributions. John was raised in a dental family. His father Dr. K. A. Burnham practiced dentistry in the Bonnie Doon area for 48 years. Even though John's mother was a licensed nurse, she worked with her husband as a dental assistant as he started his new practice. When John was an in his teens he started working in the Denture Lab at his father’s dental clinic. It was during this experience that he felt that he wanted to pursue a career in the dental field. John attended the University of Alberta to pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree taking courses he would need to advance into the Dentistry Program. While a student in University he was introduced to the Denturist Profession by a friend. After a thorough investigation, John enrolled in the NAIT Denturist Program while he was finishing up his Bachelor of Science Degree. In 1981 he graduated from both the University of Alberta and NAIT. The graduations were 3 days apart. He graduated with honors in the Denturist Program. After graduation, John started his practice while working with his father. He continued to operate his practice out of his father’s clinic for 17 years. When his father retired John opened Burnham Denture Clinic across the street. Burnham Denture Clinic is at that same location today. John is the father of 5 children, two of which continue the family dental tradition (a Dentist/Prosthodontist and a Dental Hygienist. He is the proud grandpa to 10 grandchildren. His life in retirement will focus on his children and grandchildren and spending as much time as he can at his cabin at the lake.

Bernie Cadrin

Denturist, DD, Retired 2022
After 45 years, Bernie Cadrin unwillingly retired after facing health challenges. At Burnham Denture Clinic, we are thankful that he practiced at Burnham Denture Clinic for the last few years as a Denturist. His smile, kindness and work ethic was an example to us all. We wish him the best in his retirement years. Bernie graduated from the NAIT Denturist Program in 1977. After working in various locations he opened Cadrin Denture Clinic in 1983, located on the west side of Millcreek Ravine on Whyte Avenue in Edmonton. In 2018 Cadrin Denture Clinic merged with Burnham Denture Clinic and we were pleased to welcome Bernie as an important part of our team and his patients to the Burnham Denture Clinic Family. Bernie and his wife are proud parents to 4 children who are all in the healthcare professions (3 daughters are nurses and his son is a medical doctor) and a grandfather to 6 or more. He loves them all and will enjoy the additional time he will be able to spend with them.

Pam Zylik

Patient Coordinator/Receptionist
Pam completed a Bachelor of Science in 2015 and is a self-proclaimed science nerd who loves to learn. She grew up with horses and dogs and has a soft spot for all kinds of animals. She is also an enthusiastic genealogist and spends most of her free time researching her family tree. Pam enjoys traveling, especially road trips - thanks to her dad's "white line fever" on family vacations, which took them from Calgary all over western Canada, parts of the US, and Toronto. Pam has also traveled to Mexico, Japan, Hawaii, and Alaska. One year while she was in university enjoying long summer vacations, she spent six weeks on the road driving from Calgary to Toronto, on to Boston, and then all the way back west to Seattle and Vancouver. She loved every moment of it. Nearly every day of the trip was seeing new places and enjoying all the beauty along the way. Pam grew up in Calgary, lived in Vancouver for a few years, and has been in Edmonton since 2015. Pam joined the Burnham Denture Clinic family in 2016. She looks forward to coming to work every day and really enjoys working with patients. There's always something interesting going on and there are lots of great stories to hear from our staff and patients!
